Litchfield’s favorite big fella in red is making his way to town once again and you’ll find him at the Litchfield Women’s Club’s annual Santa’s Workshop pancake breakfast event on Saturday, December 11th.
While breakfast with Santa is surely enough to get the whole family up and at ‘em on a chilly December morning, there’s plenty more in store for guests who visit the Litchfield Middle School for this special event.
A hearty pancake and sausage breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. in the LMS cafeteria, and there will be visits with Santa beginning at 9 a.m. Santa, as always, will arrive in style via the Litchfield Fire Department’s fire engine.
Sandy Johnstone, a first grade teacher from Griffin Memorial School will be reading holiday tales to the kids, starting at 8:30 a.m. , while Aaron Cutler Memorial Library director Vicki Varick will be on hand throughout the event for families to sign up for library cards. A special elf has connected with the library to offer free books to kids in attendance as well. Santa sure loves books and will be delighted to see all the great reading going on!
Expect some terrific raffle prizes to vie for once again, and a new silent auction which will feature a baseball autographed by Red Sox player Marco Scutaro, along with a $50 Hannaford gift certificate and some other exciting items.
There will be games and a craft for children and of course, the opportunity to visit with St. Nick and take pictures of the kids, too. Be sure to bring along your own camera for this great photo opp with Santa!
Breakfast is just $4 for adults and $2 for children. All proceeds benefit the Litchfield Women’s Club Community Service and Scholarship Funds.
