LWC Secretary Claire Regan knows how to take the work out of summertime meals – she combines it all in one easy piece of foil and pops it on the grill. The beauty of this quick fix for dinner (or lunch) is that any number of ingredients can be combined and the solution never grows old.
In Claire’s case, she likes to cut up her favorite veggies (and in Litchfield, whether you grow your own or rely on our fabulous farm stands, you will enjoy fresh vegetables all summer long), throw a couple of slices of cheese in a sprayed foil pouch, with a little bit of whatever type of meat (or seafood) she desires. Wrap it up and cook it on the grill to your preferred level of tenderness and what Claire calls “doneness.” ENJOY!
Give it a shot and let us know what combos you enjoy most!
By the way, we hope you’ll save the date for our annual fall open house event:
Tuesday, September 13, 2011 ~ 6:30 pm at Stage Crossing Clubhouse (behind Aaron Cutler Memorial Library) in Litchfield. We invite all Litchfield area women to join us for a social evening to learn more about Litchfield Women’s Club and enjoy a fabulous wine talk and tasting by Paula Doucette of Bella Vino Specialty Wines and Gourmet.
The Litchfield Women’s Club will host their monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Litchfield Middle School Library at 7 p.m. The Club invites women all of ages and interests with a desire to make new friends, learn more about their community and get involved with service efforts throughout Litchfield to come to the meeting and get a firsthand look at what this long-running community organization is all about.
Agenda items will include the November 13th annual Blood Drive in partnership with the Red Cross at Griffin Memorial School, Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 11th and ongoing community projects and club activities. Plans are sure to be in the works for the Club’s annual post-holiday celebration in early January.
We encourage the public to follow the Litchfield Women’s Club on Facebook at or on our blog.
The Litchfield Women’s Club encourages all community members, age 16 and up, to join them at Griffin Memorial School, 229 Charles Bancroft Highway in Litchfield, NH on Saturday, November 13th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to donate blood.
Each fall, LWC partners with the Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive, and would appreciate your support so we may reach our donor goal again this year. All potential donors must have a blood donor card or valid picture I.D. in order to donate.
Throughout the fall and holiday season, the need for blood becomes critical and your donation of blood can quite literally save a life!
All donors will receive a $5 Lobsterbucks from Weathervane Seafood Restaurant.
