Breakfast with the Bunny

It wouldn’t be spring in Litchfield without breakfast with the Easter Bunny. The Litchfield Women’s Club welcomes this special guest each year, who always enjoys a hearty all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast with the kids in town.

This year’s breakfast will be held on Saturday, April 16 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Litchfield Middle School. Guest readers from Griffin Memorial School will be sharing stories with youngsters, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the Bunny arrives promptly at 9 a.m. There will be lots of exciting raffles for community members to vie for, many games for the kids as well as seasonal crafts to make, the opportunity for parents to take pictures of their children with the Easter Bunny, and a delicious breakfast for all to enjoy.

Did you know that the proceeds from this annual event benefit the Club’s scholarship fund? Each year, LWC provides scholarships for high school graduates from Litchfield to help defray their education costs. Scholarship applications are available at all high schools that Litchfield students attend.

Mark your calendar and plan to hop on over to the Litchfield Middle School to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny on April 16th!

Guess Who’s Coming to Town?

Litchfield’s favorite big fella in red is making his way to town once again  and you’ll find him at the Litchfield Women’s Club’s annual Santa’s Workshop pancake breakfast event on Saturday, December 11th.

While breakfast with Santa is surely enough to get the whole family up and at ‘em on a chilly December morning, there’s plenty more in store for guests who visit the Litchfield Middle School for this special event.

A hearty pancake and sausage breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. in the LMS cafeteria, and there will be visits with Santa beginning at 9 a.m. Santa, as always, will arrive in style via the Litchfield Fire Department’s fire engine.

Sandy Johnstone, a first grade teacher from Griffin Memorial School will be reading holiday tales to the kids, starting at 8:30 a.m. , while Aaron Cutler Memorial Library director Vicki Varick will be on hand throughout the event for families to sign up for library cards. A special elf has connected with the library to offer free books to kids in attendance as well. Santa sure loves books and will be delighted to see all the great reading going on!

Expect some terrific raffle prizes to vie for once again, and a new silent auction which will feature a baseball autographed by Red Sox player Marco Scutaro, along with a $50 Hannaford gift certificate and some other exciting items.

There will be games and a craft for children and of course, the opportunity to visit with St. Nick and take pictures of the kids, too. Be sure to bring along your own camera for this great photo opp with Santa!

Breakfast is just $4 for adults and $2 for children. All proceeds benefit the Litchfield Women’s Club Community Service and Scholarship Funds.
